What the JB4 2-Step / NLS relay adds
The BMW N54 kit lets JB4 manage ignition to build boost before launch (2-step) and supports No-Lift Shift for manual transmissions. These modes change launch and shift behavior and are intended for a properly configured vehicle on closed courses.
Required equipment
It requires a JB4, compatible back-end flash map and BMS Data Cable or JB4 Mobile Connect Kit. Firmware must support the function; update it as Burger directs. The supplier notes newer firmware no longer requires a clutch wire.
Fitment and installation
For BMW N54 vehicles with a JB4 system. The relay kit is not a tuner or map by itself. Confirm transmission, map and firmware version before connecting.
