CSF can use thinner, lighter aluminum material (with greater cooling efficiency) because this design is actually stronger than conventional seam-welded O-tubes. The design (inlet opening in the middle of the tube, seam-soldered) increases the surface area of the tubes by approximately 15% compared to conventional tubes – the efficiency of two smaller tubes compared to one larger tube under the same space constraints. With B-tubes, "dual-laminar flow" can be achieved. CSF also utilizes highly efficient louvered fins that are precisely and accurately aligned to maximize airflow through the radiator core. Fin characteristics are carefully measured and calculated for each application and tested for maximum heat dissipation efficiency in a wind tunnel laboratory.
