The design (inlet opening in the middle of the tube, seam-soldered) increases the surface area of the tubes' heat exchange by approximately 15% compared to standard tubes – the efficiency of two smaller tubes compared to one larger tube under the same space constraints. With B-tubes, "dual laminar flow" can be achieved. CSF also utilizes highly efficient fin stock that is carefully and precisely aligned to maximize airflow through the radiator core.
