The BMW F8X S55 platform is highly susceptible to heat soak. While the ideal solution is a front-mount intercooler paired with an upgraded charge cooler, significant improvements can still be achieved by upgrading the charge cooler alone. The system's ability to dissipate as much heat as possible is the weakest of the two links in the system. Therefore, if you plan to upgrade your S55 cooling system and can only start with one component, the charge cooler is the correct choice. The CSF Charge Cooler is a true "Drop-in Fit" requiring no modifications for installation. It utilizes all factory components, including the Quick-Connect hoses, mounting brackets, factory X-Brace, and all ducting/shrouds.
