CSF
The BMW S55 engine is highly susceptible to heat soak. Many tuners noticed this early on during multiple dyno runs, observing a significant drop in power after each subsequent pass. Many F8X owners have experienced the same power loss on track, as the engine simply cannot cool down during a lap. The solution is a two-part system: The Charge Cooler (CSF #8082/8082R) and the Front Mount Intercooler (CSF #8075/8075V) work in tandem to reduce intake temperatures and increase power. Factory units simply cannot dissipate enough heat to sustain prolonged high-speed driving. The CSF Charge Cooler boasts a 60% larger core size, significantly increasing heat dissipation from the hot charge air coming from the turbochargers. When paired with the Front Mount Intercooler, the system is capable of maintaining lower intake temperatures and preserving your BMW F8X's power output.
