The S63 4.4L Twin Turbo V8 in the BMW F1X M5/M6 is an absolute monster that responds incredibly well to upgrades with more powerful turbochargers and tuning. Tuners quickly discovered that increasing the S63's power output causes charge air temperatures to exceed the limits of the stock charge air coolers, leading to dangerously high intake air temperatures (IATs). Pure Turbos approached CSF to develop a charge air cooler upgrade that could withstand the extreme boost levels generated by their turbochargers and keep intake air temperatures in check. The result is the world's first cast end-tank, high-performance charge air cooler kit for the F1X M5/M6. CSF utilized CFD analysis and testing to engineer the largest charge air cooler that could fit within the factory location. The 2-row, top/bottom cross-flow cores are 28% larger than stock and provide a significant reduction in IATs under increased boost levels.
