The S63 4.4L Twin Turbo V8 in the BMW F1X M5/M6 is an absolute monster that responds incredibly well to bolt-on upgrades, more powerful turbos, and tuning. Tuners quickly discovered that increasing the S63's power output causes charge air temperatures to exceed the limits of the stock intercoolers, leading to dangerously high Intake Air Temperatures (IATs). Pure Turbos approached CSF to develop an intercooler upgrade that could withstand the extreme boost levels produced by their turbochargers and keep IATs in check. The result is the world's first cast end-tank, high-performance intercooler kit for the BMW F1X M5/M6. CSF utilized CFD analysis and testing to engineer the largest intercooler that could fit within the factory location. The 28% larger, dual-core, top-and-bottom cross-flow cores provide a significant reduction in IATs under increased boost levels.
