CSF
The universal single-pass oil cooler CSF #8111 was originally designed as a direct-fit, front-mount, center oil cooler for Porsche 911/930 models (pre-1989) (for IROC-style or similar front bumper applications). However, due to its dimensions and mounting capabilities, CSF saw the potential for its use in a variety of custom applications. The OEM Porsche oil cooler is over 30 years old and extremely difficult to source. CSF has filled the gap for consumers looking for an affordable alternative with new technology and better fitment than the original. CSF's thoughtful design with a conical end tank and 15-degree angled inlet/outlet ports is a huge improvement over the bulky, banjo-style fittings of 30 years ago. A dual-pass version of the oil cooler is available in the same dimensions but with both connections on the same end of the tank (CSF #8111). The unique design of the CSF oil cooler line offers distinct advantages over traditional oil coolers (plate/stacked oil coolers). Oil coolers can be mounted in tight spaces or in various locations on the vehicle where there isn't a large vertical surface area. The longer, rectangular dimensions also help avoid installing too many coolers, which can cause airflow issues for other cooling system components. The placement of the inlet/outlet ports makes routing oil lines significantly easier. Typically, oil cooler lines have to be routed from different/opposite ends of the cooler, often pointing up or down. Usually, one line has to run from one side of the cooler to the other to then connect to the oil system's supply/return port. CSF oil coolers are much more robust, durable, and can handle higher peak flow rates. This allows the cooler to be mounted in locations where a lot of debris may enter (front fascia, diff cooler, side vents, etc.). The CSF oil cooler is designed to withstand a tremendous amount of vibration and debris.
