As the B58B30M0 3.0L turbocharged engine platform (1st Gen B58) continues to evolve in the high-performance industry, and as more power is extracted from the engine, the CSF High-Performance Intercooler for the BMW B58 engine will become a critical component for keeping charge air cool and preventing heat soak. The CSF BMW B58 Performance Intercooler for F-Chassis vehicles will be especially important for installation on modified turbocharged engines and/or vehicles with high-performance tuning software.
The OEM B58 intercooler is a 1-row, 27mm thick unit. In comparison, CSF has utilized its industry-exclusive, world's largest, 68mm 2-row intercooler featuring CSF's B-Tube technology. The unique end tank design allows the larger CSF core to fit within the factory cooling system housing. Another critical feature of the CSF BMW B58 Performance Intercooler is its unique 3-pass flow design. Water passing through the performance intercooler is passed through the radiator 3 times before exiting the cooler and re-entering the manifold charge cooler. This ensures that the outlet water temperature from the intercooler is as low as possible. The OEM design, as well as more expensive aftermarket units, feature a 1-pass flow structure.
