As the B58B30M0 3.0L turbocharged engine platform (1st Gen B58) continues to evolve in the high-performance aftermarket, and as more power is extracted from the engine, the CSF High-Performance Intercooler for the BMW B58 engine will become a critical component for maintaining cool charge air temperatures and preventing the vehicle from entering "limp mode." The CSF BMW B58 Upgraded Intercooler for F-Chassis vehicles will be especially crucial for installation on modified turbocharged engines and/or vehicles with performance tuning software.
The OEM B58 intercooler is a 1-row, 27mm thick unit. In comparison, CSF has utilized its industry-exclusive, world's largest 68mm 2-row intercooler featuring CSF's B-Tube technology. The unique tank design allows CSF's larger core to fit within the factory cooling system's housing. Another critical feature of the CSF BMW B58 High-Performance Intercooler is its unique 3-pass flow design. Water passing through the upgraded intercooler travels through the radiator 3 times before exiting the cooler and re-entering the manifold charge cooler. This ensures that the outlet water temperature from the intercooler is as low as possible. The OEM design, as well as more expensive aftermarket units, feature a 1-pass flow structure.
