CSF
Since the car's release, the only intercooler upgrade for the Porsche 991 GT2 RS has been a patch for the stock 1990s-style water-spray system, which sprayed water from a trunk-mounted tank onto the intercooler. The patch involved installing a larger water tank, which merely delayed the inevitable water depletion and automatically limited performance by the factory ECU to keep the engine safe. CSF and PWR, experts in cooling, have joined forces to create a high-performance intercooler for the 991 GT2 RS that eliminates heat soak and reduces charge air temperatures on stock, tuned, and track cars. CSF achieves this by utilizing an F1-grade core that significantly increases intercooler efficiency within the same space constraints. OEM cores feature a 7mm tall, flat-edged, single-row tube with a 7mm tall, high-efficiency, multi-louvered fin. The CSF/PWR high-performance intercoolers feature a dual-row core consisting of 3mm tall, rolled tubes with turbulated inner fins, hand-placed inside each tube for maximum heat extraction from the charge air. The 4.85mm tall, multi-louvered, external ambient air fin is also the most efficient fin in the high-performance cooling industry worldwide. The advantage of the rolled tube core is the rounded edge, which allows airflow to contour around the tube surface and enter the intercooler core for maximum airflow and heat dissipation (compared to OEM flat-surfaced tubes that dissipate airflow upon contact with the tube surface). Both the stock intercoolers and the CSF by PWR upgraded intercoolers are designed around an 87mm thick core with 103mm wide, side-channel end plates. This allows for a plug-and-play installation that requires absolutely no modifications for fitment and does not require cutting the expensive OEM carbon fiber air ducting.
