CSF
This single-pass oil cooler can be mounted horizontally, vertically, and also parallel to the ground (provided the oil cooler has adequate airflow). CSF oil cooler #8202 features special 45' angled end tanks on the front, allowing it to sit flush with '73 RSR style bumpers. The fittings are directed straight back. For optimal airflow and maximum performance, CSF recommends cutting the front valance to allow proper airflow exiting the oil cooler and under the vehicle. Cutting the front valance will also allow for the installation of a rear fan shroud to pull more air through the cooler at low speeds or idle. In universal applications, these oil coolers are commonly used for engine oil, transmission fluid, power steering fluid, and differential fluid, and can also be used as a water heat exchanger. CSF's unique oil cooler design has distinct advantages over traditional (plate/stacked) oil coolers. The oil coolers can be mounted in tight spaces or in various areas of the vehicle where there is not a large vertical surface area. The longer rectangular dimensions also help avoid installing too many coolers, which can cause airflow issues for other cooling system components. The placement of the inlet/outlet ports makes routing oil lines significantly easier. Typically, oil cooler lines have to be routed from different/opposite ends of the cooler, often directed up or down. Usually, one line has to travel from one side of the cooler to the other to then connect to the oil system's supply/return port. CSF oil coolers are much more robust, durable, and can handle a higher peak flow rate. This allows the cooler to be mounted in areas where a lot of debris may enter (front valance, diff cooler, side vents, etc.). The CSF oil cooler is designed to withstand a tremendous amount of vibration and debris.
