CSF
CSF and its strategic manufacturing partner PWR have earned a reputation for producing some of the finest cooling products available. CSF by PWR intercooler systems have seen tremendous success and popularity on vehicles such as the Porsche 911 Turbo, Porsche 911 GT2 RS, Lamborghini Urus, and Audi RS6/RS7. With this track record, they have once again partnered to bring the most advanced cooling technology to the Ferrari market.
The Ferrari 488/Pista/F8 intercoolers have been meticulously engineered and designed to be a direct fit for the OEM systems they replace. All factory mounting points, shrouds, and fans are utilized during installation, ensuring complete compatibility. No cutting or other modifications are required. CSF pre-installs high-density foam to seal the area around the intercoolers, just like the factory units.
One of the challenges in developing a true "drop-in" system is the size constraint. While most aftermarket intercoolers achieve a good percentage of their increased efficiency through increased size, the CSF by PWR intercoolers utilize a super-efficient core. PWR manufactures and uses these same cores in the intercoolers they supply to most Formula 1 racing teams.
The intercooler cores are CSF designed and custom-made by PWR. Featuring a dual-row, rolled tube core with internal fins, these cores are the most efficient intercooler cores available. Because of this, they are capable of eliminating heat soak and reducing IATs far more effectively than traditional Bar & Plate or Tube & Fin designs. This ensures maximum performance for extended periods under demanding driving conditions and for vehicles with increased power levels from modifications and tuning.
Like other CSF by PWR products, the Ferrari 488 intercoolers feature 100% TIG-welded, CNC-machined billet aluminum end tanks. While the stamped aluminum and gasket-sealed construction of the factory units is stronger than the typical clamp-on, gasket-sealed construction we often see for intercoolers, there is still much room for improvement. The alloy construction and TIG welding far surpass the pressure limits of both of these OEM designs.
This feature is not only aesthetically pleasing but also provides increased durability and strength. The CNC-machined billet end tanks are ready to withstand the increased boost pressure from additional modifications, higher-output tunes, and upgraded turbochargers.
