The CSF kit is built around two 13” × 4.5” (33 × 11.5 cm) Dual-Pass oil coolers (CSF #8119) connected in series. These high-performance coolers provide maximum heat dissipation without compromising strength and reliability. The Bar/Plate cores utilize CSF’s proprietary “Aero-Flow” design, which reduces weight while maintaining high strength and excellent flow capacity. The robust construction of these cores eliminates the risk of track debris damage, unlike tube-and-fin designs.

The all-TIG welded, 100% aluminum construction with cast end tanks further enhances the overall durability of the coolers. Each cooler is pressure tested to 120 PSI before leaving the factory, eliminating the risk of blowouts common with lesser solutions in other kits. The end tanks also feature custom-designed 40° angled inlet and outlet fittings for optimal flow and reduced pressure drop.

Lines, Fittings, and Thermostat

DYME PSI fittings are hydraulically crimped onto motorsport-grade 304 stainless steel braided hoses with a Superstrasse CPE inner layer. DYME PSI manufactures these hoses and fittings in-house to CSF’s exact specifications, ensuring the highest level of quality and precision. The lines provide excellent flexibility, flow capacity, and chemical resistance.

Oil flow is regulated by a CNC-machined aluminum sandwich plate with a built-in thermostat. It installs in the factory oil filter location using an M20×1.5 adapter. The plate is designed to use the OEM oil filter but can accommodate an oversized filter up to 70mm in diameter with an M20×1.5 thread (ensure adequate height clearance when selecting a filter).

The thermostat begins to open at 175°F (80°C) and is fully open at 195°F (90°C), making it ideal for track use and high-performance street driving. The plate also includes a pre-plugged 1/8 NPT port for the installation of an aftermarket oil temperature sensor, allowing for more accurate data and monitoring.

Ducting and Vents

CSF has designed and CFD-modeled bumper vents to ensure adequate airflow to the dual oil coolers for effective engine oil temperature control. The design process utilized CFD modeling to optimize airflow and aerodynamics. The vents are constructed from pre-preg carbon fiber, following the lines and styling of the FL5 for an OEM+ aesthetic. To further enhance cooling, the kit also includes louvered vents that direct air from the bumper area into the wheel wells.

OEM Fitment and Quality

CSF leveraged industry connections to source the best motorsport-grade carbon fiber supplier. The quality, fit, and finish of these components meet the highest standards and have undergone extensive track testing. Each vent is bolted on, not attached with double-sided tape, ensuring a secure installation. Cutout templates are included to simplify installation and ensure precise positioning. Templates are also provided for international FL5 models equipped with PDC sensors. Factory PDC sensors retain full functionality and OEM appearance.
