Background

The inlet system on the Porsche 992 has been completely redesigned from previous generations, with a different layout of the system's components. The principle, of course, is always the same – air as cold as possible, in as large a quantity as possible, is what generates power and is felt behind the wheel!

Considerations

The efficiency of a turbocharged car is directly dependent on the inlet temperature and back pressure in the system. What is sometimes forgotten is that good flow before the turbocharger is equally important for it to work efficiently. Reduced vacuum and cold intake air allow the turbo to pump a larger air mass, which ultimately affects the amount of oxygen reaching the intake – this generates power. In short, there are significant power gains to be had with a good intake system! During our years of development, we have come to see the clear correlation between intake temperature, flow to the turbochargers, and how this affects the car's power. The Porsche 911, with its twin turbochargers and good tuning potential, always asks for more oxygen. It was true then, it is true now!

do88 Turbo Inlet Pipes

We began our development by 3D scanning the entire available space in the car to rationally work with the products in a CAD environment. The entire system is flow-optimized; radii and angles have been revised repeatedly to achieve the best results! The finished product is CFD-verified and, of course, flow-verified in our own flow bench, Superflow SF-1020, so that you, as a customer, know what you are buying.
The pipes come in a matte black, textured finish and are delivered with CNC-machined adapters that connect to the turbo's inlet, to which the pipes are then attached. The pipes are adapted to connect to the original airbox or the do88 air filter system with a 66 mm connection. We include black hose clamps of the best quality!
Note that these pipes offer a good upgrade and can be seen as a good first step in refining your Porsche 911. However, we want to emphasize that the greatest effect is achieved when these pipes are used together with the do88 air filter system; only then are all restrictions before the turbocharger eliminated.
