Our intercooler offers significant advantages: larger core volume: 14,048cm³ (compared to 7,735cm³ for the original), an 81% increase; larger active cooling area: 2,810cm² (compared to 2,417cm²), 16% larger; airflow at 0.15 bar pressure drop: 410 CFM (compared to 339 CFM), 21% higher; and the temperature after the intercooler under the same test conditions is 22°C (compared to 35°C for the original), making do88 13°C lower.

We are very pleased to launch a range of products in 2022 for all NG 9-5 enthusiasts worldwide! Expectations were high when Saab's last, much-anticipated flagship NG 9-5 debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2009. The car that was supposed to carry this Swedish brand into the future. 10 years after the bankruptcy, we know the answer – it didn't happen. There were only two official model years, and the SportCombi barely saw the light of day. Nevertheless, the NG 9-5 is a vibrant car that still stands out on the road today; it has a presence and design that still feels modern. We at do88 hold our Swedish car manufacturers dear, and this is our contribution to keeping these treasures alive. Original is fine, but improved cooling contributes to both increased operational reliability and better performance. For Saab, then as now.

We began our development by 3D scanning the entire available space in the car to rationally work with the products in a CAD environment. The entire system is flow-optimized; radii and angles have been reworked repeatedly to achieve the best results! The finished product is CFD-verified and, of course, flow-verified in our own flow bench, Superflow SF-1020, so that you, as a customer, know what you are buying. It comes with CNC-machined connections according to original specifications. This allows for the reuse of the car's original hoses, which are well-dimensioned from the start. For this intercooler, you can also choose our piping kits (see separate product), which include an adapter for the aforementioned quick-release coupling to create a standard hose connection.

This intercooler is designed for the best cooling capacity under demanding conditions. Made entirely of aluminum with fully welded seams, it guarantees durability and endurance when truly needed. The increased core volume improves cooling capacity and lowers the engine's intake temperature. As this is a do88 performance product, we have, of course, carried out thorough tests during the development phase to achieve the best performance. The end tanks are cast to ensure optimal airflow and come with machined mounting points for the AC condenser and water cooler. This intercooler is space-optimized as much as possible for installation in the original location.

An 81% larger core volume is a difference we are proud to have achieved. It's something that truly makes a difference. The engine pulls significantly better across the entire rev range and withstands repeated accelerations without building up heat. The notion that the intercooler doesn't need to be replaced until a high level of tuning is achieved is incorrect, yet widely spread. On warm, Swedish summer days, during repeated pulls, spirited driving, or generally in a warmer climate, it doesn't take much effort for the engine to start generating dangerously high intake temperatures, even on a completely untuned car. The cooling capacity of the original intercooler is often clearly inadequate, and this affects the engine and its power. Heat must be removed, otherwise the promised power will drastically decrease as soon as you start accelerating. In addition, there is increased airflow with less pressure drop. More oxygen to the engine means more power – bingo!
