Girodisc front brake rings are cast from proprietary high-carbon iron developed to Girodisc specifications. This metallurgy provides superior strength, resistance to thermal stress and cracking, and consistent brake performance even under the most demanding conditions. 30 curved vane directional cooling slots act as a centrifugal pump, creating airflow through the hub for intense rotor cooling.

The two-piece floating design allows for the reuse of the aluminum hat when it's time to replace the worn rings. All major components – hats, brake rings, and fasteners – are manufactured at Girodisc's Bellingham, Washington facility using American-sourced materials. The hat is machined from 6061-T6 anodized aluminum, and the fasteners are high-strength steel with a cadmium coating. Each rotor is equipped with spring clips and Belleville washers to ensure precise compensation for thermal expansion and quiet operation on the street and track.

Recommended minimum replacement thickness is 28mm, or sooner if a crack reaches the edge of the ring. The design ensures durability, serviceability, and consistent braking performance.
