The Girodisc system is a direct replacement for the factory rotor, requiring no modifications. The rotor mounts directly to the vehicle and works perfectly with the original calipers. Upgrading your brakes with lightweight, high-performance replacements instead of a big brake kit allows you to retain factory balance and ABS effectiveness.

The rotor's center hat is machined from strictly American-made 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum. The rotor is made from a proprietary cast iron alloy, cast in the USA and machined in-house from start to finish at Girodisc. The rotor features a curved vane design, race-engineered to act as a centrifugal pump, pushing cooling air through the rotor.

The rotor and hat feature a floating mount system utilizing 10 high-strength alloy steel drive pins, manufactured in the USA by Girodisc to their own specifications and cadmium plated for long-lasting corrosion resistance. These pins take the braking load while maintaining axial and radial float between the hat and rotor. The pins are secured with grade 12.9 socket head cap screws and hardened washers. To prevent rotor noise when cold, anti-knock spring washers are installed on the rotor-side of the pins, allowing the rotor to grow with heat expansion but eliminating the rattle and noise associated with floating rotors. This floating design also allows the rotor to self-center between the pads.
