This set of titanium backing plates consists of 4 plates that help prevent brake fluid from boiling. Titanium, as a material, has low thermal conductivity. This means it transfers heat very poorly. When a thin titanium plate is placed between the back of the pad and the pistons, heat from the braking system is not transferred to the pistons and fluid. For vehicles that undergo extensive track use, these shims are a good defense against pedal pressure loss due to brake fluid boil-off. Waterjet cut to precise size, no cutting or grinding.
