Both the OEM and CSF intercoolers feature 39 cooling tubes and 40 rows of fins. However, the CSF intercooler utilizes a 54mm thick, 2-row core – a significant upgrade from the OEM's single-row core. The CSF core also incorporates the proprietary CSF B-Tube technology, which increases heat dissipation efficiency by approximately 15% compared to standard oval-welded tubes. Additionally, the ultra-efficient multi-louvered fins maximize airflow through the core for optimal performance.

OEM intercoolers are all-metal but use a crimped and soldered construction that is weaker than CSF's TIG-welded design. CSF's all-aluminum, TIG-welded construction significantly enhances the overall strength of the intercooler. This improves durability and reliability, ensuring it can withstand demanding operating conditions. The outlet tanks feature plugged 1/8 NPT sensor ports for those requiring more precise coolant temperature readings.

5-Pass Design

CSF intercoolers employ a 5-pass design, allowing for longer charge air coolant dwell time within the system and maximizing heat extraction. Each pass enables more heat to be removed, returning coolant to the intercoolers at a temperature as close to ambient as possible.

Plug and Play Installation

OEM foam strips are reused to seal and secure the intercoolers in the factory locations, as well as to improve airflow. CSF intercoolers fit into the factory mounting points and require no modifications or cutting.

Protective Screens Included

CSF includes removable metal protective screens that replace the plastic OEM pieces (McLaren OE: 11L0528CP). These reinforced screens offer enhanced protection and durability. They reduce the risk of cooling system damage from road debris.
