More cooling, more flow, more power. Simply MERA! The intercoolers feature cast end tanks that distribute airflow across the entire core package very precisely. This is very important because a good tank design will be beneficial for both pressure drop and cooling efficiency. To accommodate an intercooler with the correct thickness for the job, it was also necessary to design new upper air guides that distribute cooling air over the core package. These were designed in our 3D-scanned environment to ensure a perfect fit with the intercooler and the lower original air guides. To further remove bottlenecks, the MERA intercooler kit features intercooler connections that are 70 mm (2 3/4 inches) to truly allow air to pass without restriction. This also means that new hoses are included for each position, all of which are 3D-designed with maximum airflow in mind. All hoses are CFD-tested to ensure this. The hoses on the turbo outlet are made of a high-temperature resistant material rated for 240°C (464°F) continuous temperature. To truly take advantage of all heat-transferring ambient air, the carbon fiber air guides come with proper seals against the core package, forcing all cooling air to pass through the core package and not bypass it. The intercooler kit comes with hoses adapted for OEM or do88 (54mm) Y-pipes. What differs are the included hoses. Choose your version in the dropdown menu above. When it comes to performance, the do88 intercoolers significantly reduce the intake temperature! The diagram shows the difference compared to the original (OEM) 991 intercoolers. The data was collected with an AIM race logger during 3 consecutive runs in immediate sequence. Full throttle accelerations between 50-250 km/h in a Porsche 991.2 Carrera. No cooling in between, just full speed. The test was conducted as follows: First, 3 runs were made with the car equipped with OEM intercoolers. Stop, quick change of parts to do88 intercoolers. Then 3 runs were made in exactly the same way as with the OEM parts. The reduction in inlet air temperature is significant, the peak delta is XX°C, see the diagram! Cooling is important, and so is airflow. After many hours of development, refinement of the end tanks, and selection of the core package to meet our requirements, the result is an intercooler that is much more efficient in terms of heat transfer and airflow. With our in-house Superflow SF-1020 Probench flow bench, the airflow is verified as a complete system, with hoses on both inlet and outlet, for both OEM 991 intercoolers and do88 performance intercoolers.
